Xena 4.0 is released under the GNU General Public License Version 2 (GPL2), a free and open source license that allows for unrestricted distribution and modification of the Xena application (as long as all further modifications are also distributed under the GPL2 and made publically available).
The Xena trademark is owned by the National Archives of Australia.
